Karen McDawn – the new generation of Country-Pop
Young, talented, ambitious and equipped with a lot of humor; all of that applies to Karen McDawn, who was already singing before she could talk. Aside from singing, the heart of the good looking lower-Austrian belongs to the wild west, an interest that she couldn't let go of since her child hood.
„Because my parents are very interested in the Indian culture and have always told me a lot about it, I have always been fascinated by everything that has to do with Indians and Cowboys“, Karen tells with a smile. So it's not surprising that the singer has performed several times at the Karl-May Festival.
Even though her way led her to Vienna and the musical world in the inner country and abroad after her training for singing, dancing and acting, her biggest dream has always been to be successful with music, which is her passion – Country! To have her own songs, her own band and an audience that she can fasten with her songs is Karen McDawn's personal „American Dream“. And it looks like her dream will come true even though in Austria Country only exists for aficionados, at least for now. Karen is working intently to make Country in Austria and also beyond the borders modern, known, and „en vogue“.
Because of her co-operation with the American composer and producer Ron Gardner and the German Country-Label „Amazing Records“ she was able to release her first Singles „How Do You Do?“ and „Cajun Hoedown“.
Since May 2011, Karen has been touring Europe with the band "Rhythm 4 Boots", continuing her passion for Country Music.
