Spare Line

Spare Line started their musical journey in 2006. While trying different
instrumentation and styles they finally found their home in the genre
of Bluegrass in 2008.
Next, founding member Doc Slyder (Mandolin, Dobro) started to
gather an illustrious circle of musicians from Berlin to create the
'Capital Bluegrass' in 2010.
Tom Henry (Guitar, Fiddle, Vocals) is the musical head of the band
and has been a part of it since the beginning. Marc O' (Bass, Vocals)
joined the band in 2010 and has since been responsible for the bass
notes division. Pommi (Banjo, Guitar, Vocals) who is an old hand in
the business and has been a part of the band since 2011
complements the ensemble with a very relaxed 5-string banjo.
Together these four form the musical core of Spare Line and interpret
songs by the Bluegrass and Country aristocracy as well as write and
play their own compositions. Sometimes even Pop music is
'grassed-over'.
Since the beginning of 2013 Ramona Rocks, who is a known figure
in theater, as well as radio and TV, has been giving the band a new
shine- not only visually. Her powerful voice complements that of Tom
Henry's wonderfully, which is a delight especially in duets. Due to the
musical variety and their special way of interpreting songs by others,
Spare Line can be found on large stages at Open Air events or city
festivals, as well as in small clubs, pubs or even private music
events.
